Cake maker bakes up a storm for Macmillan Coffee Morning in Upper Norwood
Residents in Upper Norwood were treated to homemade cupcakes as people gathered at All Saints Church on Friday 27th September to raise money for Macmillan.
The coffee morning, organised by local Councillor Claire Bonham, was well attended and raised over £250 for Macmillan, and follows on from a successful event held at the church last year.
Local cake maker Gabby Quashie-Apeatse, who runs her own local business QuashCakes, donated a large box of cupcakes to the event. Gabby, who lives on College Green in Upper Norwood, said:
"I was delighted to support this local event to raise money for Macmillan and it was wonderful to meet and connect with so many local residents. Cake really can bring the community together!"
Cllr Claire Bonham added: "It was lovely to see so many residents turn out for Macmillan - despite the terrible weather! Upper Norwood is a kind and generous community and I'd like to pay tribute to Gabby and other residents for their kind donations. We really are so lucky to have local businesses like QuashCakes that are willing to support community events like this."
